Jack and Kathy Donnelly were faithful Catholics and philanthropists known for their inspirational support of Catholic education in Philadelphia as well as countless other charities.

As the former owner and CEO of LF Driscoll, one of the largest and most respected construction firms in Philadelphia, Jack was a respected construction leader and under his guidance some of the city’s most significant projects were built, including Comcast Headquarters and The Barnes Museum. While the list of Jack’s accomplishments goes on, what meant the most to him was his dedication to leaving the world a better place than before he arrived – and that he did.

This labor of love began over 20 years ago when Jack and Kathy initiated their connection with Saint Martin de Porres Catholic School. Through the unwavering support of that school and later Jack’s instrumental role in founding Independence Mission Schools, the Donnellys have helped transform the educational landscape for inner-city young scholars. They worked hard to ensure the success of students, committing generous gifts of time, talent and treasure, and encouraged others to do the same.

To guarantee their ongoing support, Jack and Kathy thoughtfully contributed one million dollars to Independence Mission Schools and St. Martin de Porres through an IRA bequest. Planned giving enables donors to make a transformational impact while creating enduring support for the causes they care about most. We are deeply grateful to Jack and Kathy Donnelly for their foresight and generosity, which ensure a sustainable future for Independence Mission Schools and its schools, and a lasting legacy for generations to come.
