Required for Employees and Volunteers
The following background checks and clearances are required for all employees and volunteers serving the Independence Mission Schools network prior to beginning employment or service. All three must be renewed every 60 months.
The Criminal Background and Child Abuse clearances are free for volunteers. The fingerprints are not free but are required.
PA Criminal Background Check
For New Employees click “Submit New Record Check”
For Volunteers Click “New Volunteer Record Check”
PA Child Abuse History Clearance
Click on the button that says Create Individual Account. If you already have an account, log in.
When you receive your clearances, please email them [email protected] and your school front office.
Scroll down to Enrollment Services and click on Digital Fingerprinting. Register using service code 1KG6TR then follow links to schedule an appointment and to locate a fingerprinting center. When you receive your clearances, please email them to [email protected] and your school front office.
Required for Staff, Volunteers, and Contractors
The following required training must be completed by IMS employees within 90 days of beginning employment. If you have previously taken this training, see below.
If you have previously taken Safe Environment training in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, please contact the Office for Child and Youth Protection at 215-587-2466 or [email protected] to request a duplicate certificate. If you completed the training at another diocese, request a transferability evaluation.
