IMS sent a delegation of 7th and 8th grade students from each of our 14 schools on a field trip to the
PA Capitol Complex in Harrisburg. The trip, on January 31, was part of our annual celebration of Catholic
Schools Week.

Students toured the Capitol Building and met with legislators who represent Philadelphia. Senator Art
Haywood spoke with our students via Zoom in his office. In the office of House Democratic Leader Joanna
McClinton, a staff member told the students about her work to improve our communities.

The visit was also a chance for our students to thank our legislators for supporting the Educational Tax Credit program (EITC), which directly helps our schools and reduces the financial burden on our families. We look forward to planning more immersive learning experiences like this for our students.
