I am excited to welcome you to a new school year with Independence Mission Schools (IMS)! Whether you are brand new to our network or returning to us, I am so grateful that you are part of our family and part of our mission!
One of the things that makes IMS such a special place to work, learn, and grow is that across our 14 schools, we are all working toward one mission – to provide a transformative Catholic school-based education that develops students intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. We welcome children of all faiths across the City of Philadelphia to learn in an academically rigorous environment and to grow in a culture of love, setting them on the path to a promising future. Guided by our core values of love, high expectations for all, diversity and inclusion, God-given potential, and strength in community, together, we are working to build strong minds and loving hearts.
In addition to our commitment to our students, we are also committed to our staff. At IMS, we strive to build a culture that fosters cross-network collaboration, professional development, and personal growth. We support and learn from one another and challenge not just our students, but also each other, to become the best versions of ourselves.
I am incredibly proud of the work we have done over the past nine years. Collectively, our students continue to make academic gains, and our class of 2023 has received extensive scholarships and financial aid to attend the area’s top high schools. We are making a difference in the lives of the students, families, and communities we serve.
I am excited and hopeful for the future of IMS. Working together, I am confident that we will continue to drive our network strategy to become a top-tier academic destination for students in and near Philadelphia by 2026. IMS students will leave our school community emotionally and spiritually formed by our Catholic example, performing at or above grade level, and enrolled in an academically rigorous high school program ready to achieve their dreams.
