As we find ourselves in the New Year, I am grateful to have you as a valued member of the Independence Mission Schools (IMS) family! Thank you for your continued support of our mission.
In the heart of this bustling city, our 14 schools continue to embody the transformative essence of Catholic schools. Our commitment is resolute—to nurture students intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. Across the diverse neighborhoods of Philadelphia, we open our doors to children of all faiths, providing an academically rigorous environment and fostering a culture of love that propels them toward a promising future.
As we navigate the winter months, there is some good news that I am eager to share with you:
- Catholic Schools Week (CSW) took place from January 28 through February 3, 2024. Many of our schools held open houses and school tours to invite new and prospective students and their families to learn about the great things going on in their schools. It was a true celebration of the community, our teachers, students, alumni, and donors!
- Mission Week: Shamrocking the Spirit of Giving, will take place from March 11 to March 17, 2024. During this special week of online fundraising, we all can help to create a brighter future for our students—one pot of gold at a time! Your support is the key to making a lasting difference in the lives of our students and community. Together, let’s build the rainbow to our pot of gold during Mission Week!
- The achievements of our students: The Class of 2024, in particular, is already excelling, receiving extensive scholarships and financial aid to attend some of the region’s top high schools, including Malvern Prep, Merion Mercy Academy, St. Joseph’s Prep, Nazareth Academy, Devon Prep, Academy of Notre Dame de Namur, West Catholic, Shipley, Holy Ghost Prep, Central High, LaSalle College, Penn Charter, and Girls’ High just to name a few!
This is a testament to the academic gains our students continue to make and the support they receive from our IMS community. Thank you for being an essential part of our journey. Your generosity and commitment propel us forward, shaping the future of IMS and the lives of those we serve. As we continue on this inspiring path, may God Bless you abundantly, for he has truly blessed us with your remarkable support and dedication.
