A graduating 8th grader at St. Rose of Lima Catholic School, Raven D. is one of 75 Maguire Scholars in the Class of 2022 across our 14 IMS schools. Scholars are selected from incoming 6th graders with a GPA of 85% or above as well as financial need and community service. They receive annual scholarships for grades 6-8.
Raven is very excited to continue her studies this fall at Merion Mercy Academy – her first-choice high school! Her ambition is to study pre-med on a full scholarship to a top university and become an anesthesiologist.
“My experience with the Maguire Scholars Program has been extraordinary and I am so thankful for the support,” Raven shares. She also appreciates her teachers for their endless support and “for motivating me, making my day better, believing in me, and pushing me to be the best.”
The Maguire Scholars Program is part of the IMS partnership with the Maguire Foundation. It is designed to educate tomorrow’s leaders by providing deserving students with an opportunity for an excellent education.
Raven credits her St. Rose of Lima education with preparing her for high school by teaching her time management, a strong work ethic, how to handle adversity, and how to be resourceful.
Her advice for fellow students is to “stay focused, never give up, be respectful, help others, always volunteer, don’t be afraid to speak your mind, be responsible, and be sure to work on time management!”
