The Independence Mission Schools graduating class of 2026 saw 396 eighth graders cross the stage and toss their caps in the air. Across our network of 14 schools, these students have been accepted into 84 unique high schools for the 2026-27 school year—including some of the Philadelphia region’s most elite. And as of July 9, 2026, these 396 students have collectively earned over $18.7 million in four-year scholarship and financial aid dollars.
“Our students and their families put in the work,” said IMS Director of High School Readiness, Jose “Gonzo” Gonzalez. “A strong High School Readiness Program creates opportunities, but it’s our graduates who turn those opportunities into success. Their perseverance, courage, and commitment to their futures are reflected in every acceptance letter and every high school they will attend. We couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve accomplished, and we know they’re just getting started.”
