A tax credit contribution can help make a Catholic school education possible for a student. On October 1, Independence Mission Schools brought together current tax credit participants and guests interested in learning more about the program for the Tax Credit Impact Reception at Union League Liberty Hill.
The evening offered an opportunity to hear firsthand about the impact of need-based scholarships and the role tax credit participants play in making an IMS education possible. Guests heard from IMS CEO Gianna D’Angelo, Chief Advancement Officer Erin Wooley, Director of Tax Credit Giving Brett Foley and Cydney Booker, a 2024 DePaul Catholic graduate and current junior at Little Flower Catholic High School.
Cydney shared her experience as an IMS student and the impact her Catholic school education has had on her journey. Now a junior at Little Flower, she reflected on the teachers, experiences and opportunities that helped shape her and continue to influence her goals for the future.
Her story was a reminder of what tax credit giving makes possible. It helps students access a Catholic school education, pursue new opportunities and build a strong foundation for their future.
Thank you to everyone who currently participates in tax credit giving. Your support helps provide need-based scholarships to students across our 13 schools.
For those interested in participating, Pennsylvania’s tax credit programs offer an opportunity to redirect PA tax dollars you already owe toward need-based scholarships for IMS students while receiving a 90% tax credit on your contribution.
