From their Fall Festival where the school parking lot is transformed into a pumpkin patch, to their magical Christmas Tree Lighting complete with Santa flying in from the North Pole to light their Christmas tree, the students at St. Thomas Aquinas (STA) are the lucky benefactors of a flourishing relationship between their school and the Philadelphia police.

Through the partnership with the 17th district police and the Families Behind the Badge Children’s Foundation Police Youth Alliance (PYA), special events like these are made possible. These fun events bring joy to the local communities served by the officers, while relationships are built and strengthened.

The staff at STA recently held a luncheon for the officers to show their appreciation. The officers didn’t give up an opportunity to serve our students even during their luncheon… Dressed up as elves, they spent the afternoon building gingerbread houses!  It may be cold outside, but STA students can already smell the burgers on the grill as they await their end-of-year picnic with their new friends with badges!
