Students and parents from DePaul Catholic, Holy Cross, St. Raymond of Penafort, St. Frances Cabrini, St. Malachy, St. Martin de Porres, and St. Rose of Lima Catholic Schools participated in the Church Farm School’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day event on January 15th. These seven IMS schools sent approximately 100 middle school students from our Varsity Boys basketball teams, along with coaches and parents to participate in a unique athletic and high school admissions program at the Church Farm School, an all-boys boarding school in Exton, PA. The Howley Foundation sponsored transportation to the event so that our student-athletes and coaches could all attend.

Before the athletic competition began, all students and parents were invited to a performance by Dr. Mykee Fowlin, followed by a tour of the Church Farm boarding school, and a presentation from the Director of College Counseling (where they learned that 100% of students attend college after graduation). Our invitation and participation in the event is a testament to Jose “Gonzo” Gonzalez’s High School Readiness program at IMS, as well as our strong partnership with the Howley Foundation, whose support has allowed us to increase student exposure and attendance to private schools and boarding schools such as the Church Farm School.
